McKeown, Alex; Rückert, Friedrich Translations from the German of two poems by Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866). Both poems look back to the Persian poet Khwāja Shams-ud-Dīn Muḥammad Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī (1315-1390), commonly known as Hafiz.
